How to make your press-on nails last longer

How to make your press-on nails last longer
Press-on nails have become one of the biggest manicure trends, and with the right fit, proper prep and the right adhesive, a set can last anywhere from a couple of days to up to two weeks. Here are the tips that actually make the difference.
Tip 1: Find the right fit
Before you start applying, line up all ten nails to find your perfect fit. Each nail should sit edge-to-edge across your natural nail, fully covering it, and sit just below or along your cuticle.
Pro Tip: If you're between two sizes, size down. A snug fit will always outlast one that's slightly too big.
Tip 2: Prep your nails
If there's one thing that separates a manicure that lasts from one that doesn't, it's prep. Always start with clean, dry hands, then trim and lightly shape your natural nails and gently push back your cuticles. Finish by wiping each nail to remove any oil or moisture.
Pro Tip: Oily nails? Swipe the nail twice and give your nails a moment to dry completely.
Tip 3: Choose the right adhesive
The adhesive you choose determines how long your press-ons last, so it's worth thinking about before you start:
3–5 days: Adhesive tabs are quick and easy. Apply to your natural nail, slide the press-on into place, and hold for 15 seconds.
Up to 7 days: Apply a thin strip of glue down the centre of your natural nail with a small dot on each side. Press firmly and hold for 30 seconds.
Up to 14 days: Apply glue to both your natural nail and the back of the press-on. Spread evenly, wait around 5 seconds until tacky, then apply at a 45° angle starting at the cuticle. Press down firmly and hold for 30 seconds.
Pro Tip: Always apply the nail at a 45° angle, starting from the cuticle. It pushes out air pockets before they become bubbles and creates a stronger bond - which means a longer, cleaner wear. If a press-on isn't adhering after about 10 seconds of pressing it down, add a little more glue before pressing again.
Tip 4: Let them set
Avoid getting your hands wet for at least an hour after application and try not to slide the press-on while it sets. After that, wear gloves for washing up and try to avoid long soaks. Extended water exposure is one of the most common reasons press-ons lift early.

How do I remove my Glaize Tips?
For a damage-free removal, follow our step-by-step removal guide here.
How long will they last?
With adhesive tabs, you can get 3–5 days of wear. With glue and good prep, you can expect up to 14 days.
Will they damage my nails?
Glaize Tips won't damage your nails if you remove them correctly. Avoid peeling or forcing them off - instead, soak your nails in warm soapy water or acetone and apply nail oil to loosen the bond, then gently lift from the base.
Can I reuse them?
Yes. With glue, you can get up to three wears from a set as long as you don't soak them in acetone during removal and you clean the backs carefully. With adhesive tabs, you can often get more uses per set if you keep the backs clean between wears.
